FAQ – Frequently Asked Questions

General information

In accordance with the regulations outlined in the Austrian Universities Act 2002, all vacant positions are advertised publicly.
Applications must relate specifically to one of the vacancies advertised.

The University of Klagenfurt aims to increase the proportion of women in its employment and would therefore like to encourage qualified women to apply.

Among equally qualified applicants, women will receive preferential consideration.

This means: Female candidates who are equally well suited to the desired position as the most suitable male competitor must be given priority. This shall remain the case until the proportion of women among the total number of permanent university employees within the respective categories – stipulated by the employment law – stands at no less than 50%.

People with disabilities or chronic illnesses who meet the required qualification criteria are expressly encouraged to apply.

There is no entitlement to compensation of travel and accommodation expenses incurred as a result of the selection procedure.
