General information

In accordance with the regulations outlined in the Austrian Universities Act 2002, all vacant positions are advertised publicly.
Applications must relate specifically to one of the vacancies advertised.

The University of Klagenfurt aims to increase the proportion of women in its employment and would therefore like to encourage qualified women to apply.

Among equally qualified applicants, women will receive preferential consideration.

This means: Female candidates who are equally well suited to the desired position as the most suitable male competitor must be given priority. This shall remain the case until the proportion of women among the total number of permanent university employees within the respective categories – stipulated by the employment law – stands at no less than 50%.

People with disabilities or chronic illnesses who meet the required qualification criteria are expressly encouraged to apply.

The University of Klagenfurt will not reimburse applicants’ travel and lodging expenses incurred as part of the selection and/or hiring process.

Researchers from abroad,  who are interested in starting or continuing their career in the research location of Austria, may apply to the FFG for a career grant. Further information

FAQ

All vacancies are advertised in the  the university bulletin of the University of Klagenfurt. The university bulletin is published every first and third Wednesday on the university’s website. If applicable, vacancies are also published in newspapers, magazines or online.

The application period is at least three weeks and is specified in the relevant advertisement.

You can apply directly for each individual position simply by clicking the button Apply for this position at the end of the advert.

 

If you meet the specified qualifications, send us your application along with all of the documents specified in the advert.

If not stipulated in more detail in the advertisement, the documents required are: cover letter, CV with photo and scans of all relevant references/certificates in PDF format.

All applications received during the application period are collected. Once the application period has expired, all complete applications received are forwarded to the organisational unit to which the vacancy applies.

Job interviews and any tests are carried out by the organisational unit to which the vacancy applies. Applications and test results are handled with the utmost confidentiality and deleted upon expiry of the legal retention period.

Collective Bargaining Agreement for University Staff

The Collective Bargaining Agreement for University Staff (abbr. Uni-KV, in effect since 01/10/2009) applies to all new employees of the University of Klagenfurt.
